Mr. Nusith Kumaratunga is a distinguished finance professional with over two decades of experience. A fellow of the institute of chartered accountants of Sri Lanka and a member of the institute of certified management accountants, he also holds a B.Sc. in estate management and valuation from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. After starting his career at price waterhouse coopers, he founded Nusith Kumaratunga & Co. in 2000, a well-recognised firm offering audit, tax planning, and business consultancy services, particularly focused on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Nusith has been a key figure in the development of the SME sector in Sri Lanka, conducting numerous training programs funded by the world ank and the ministry of finance to help entrepreneurs enhance their financial management skills. He is also involved in national economic discussions, serving on advisory panels to improve taxation and economic policies.

Mr. Dushmantha Thotawatte was appointed to the board of directors with effect from 22nd August 2022.

Mr. Thotawatte is a fellow member of the institute of chartered accountants of Sri Lanka with a Bachelor of Commerce (Special Degree) from the University of Sri Jayawardhanepura & a Master in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo.

He is an accomplished leader who has extensive experience in the field of financial management, corporate governance, strategic management and public relations, together a successful track record as chief executive officer, chief financial officer and chief internal auditor in many state-owned enterprises and private organisations and counts over 38 years of experience.

A senior telecoms, nuclear, oil & gas and financial services, IT professional positioned to provide leadership through accomplishments in telecom, digital transformation, data analytics, cyber security, digital commerce, and emerging technologies to drive an organisations strategic agenda.

Possesses a Master of Business in Information Technology (MBIT) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University Australia.

Experienced in creating business aligned IT strategies with a focus on improving service excellence, customer experience, boosting operational efficiency & generating new revenue streams and leading large transformational IT projects to achieve business benefits. Has established an Enterprise Architecture/Business architecture practice, bringing business innovation, optimised service delivery, customer engagement and IT transformation projects to improve business effectiveness and capability. Competency in evaluating an organisations competitive situation, identify digital opportunities & threats and enable its competitive position that is defined in a digital strategy.

Has the accomplishment of driving business effectiveness and efficiency across the entire telecom value chain, bank digital transformation journey, and establishing IT operating models deliver value to the business. Worked in UAE, Australia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, India, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, delivering bottom line results by prudently and cost effectively using technology, while leading multicultural teams across several large projects. Good knowledge and understanding of digital technologies and its impact (IoT, AI, Digital Workplace, Cognitive Computing, Blockchain, Big Data, Cloud, social media, etc).

Mr. Niel Unamboowe President’s Counsel, is a legal professional with over three decades of experience in the field of law. He retired as Additional Solicitor General, having played a pivotal role in high-profile legal investigations, regulatory compliance and government advisory roles.

A specialist in intellectual property, commercial, and financial law, he holds two Master’s degrees from George Washington University, USA, and the University of Turin, Italy. He has received international training in cyber law, air law, and nuclear safeguards.

During his tenure at the Attorney General’s Department, he provided legal guidance to the Ministry of Finance, Sri Lanka Customs, and Inland Revenue. Additionally, he served as a legal consultant for the Atomic Energy Authority, Sri Lanka Standards Institute, and other government agencies.

He is now engaged in the practice of the Law and is on the Board of Directors of Sri Lanka Telecom and of Mobitel Company Limited.

Mr. Palihawadana counts over 51 years of experience in the banking and primary dealer industry, including 41 years in treasury dealing activities. He was appointed as CEO/Director of Sherwood Capital (Private) Ltd in 2022—a private company investing in government securities.

He previously served as Managing Director of Capital Alliance Ltd, a non bank primary dealer in government securities. He joined Seylan Bank PLC in 1999 as Chief Manager/Chief Dealer and was in charge of the bank’s treasury dealing activities. During his tenure, he held positions including Assistant General Manager/Chief Dealer, Deputy General Manager/treasury, and ultimately retired in December 2017 as Deputy General Manager – Treasury, where he headed the Primary Dealer Unit and the Gold Investment Unit. He also served as a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of Seylan Development PLC. Prior to joining Seylan Bank PLC, Mr. Palihawadana worked at Bank of Ceylon, both in Colombo and at its London branch as chief dealer.

He holds a BSc in Physical Science from the University of Colombo.

Mr. B.A.T. Rodrigo is currently holding the position of Additional Director General of the Department of Public Enterprises, General Treasury. Mr. Rodrigo has gained experience nearly three decades in the public sector with wide experience in Treasury Functions including Accounting & Reporting, Asset Management, Corporate Affairs’ and SOE’s having commenced his career as an Audit Examiner at Auditor General’s Department in 1995.

He also served in the Divisional Secretariat Medawachchiya as an Accountant, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Assistant Director, The Deputy High Commission Office in Chennai as the Second Secretary and the Local Loan & Development Fund coming under purview of Ministry of Provincial Councils & Local Government as the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Rodrigo holds the degree of Bachelor of Commerce and after obtaining the first degree he has completed the Master of Public Management from Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration. He is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka and elected as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Currently Mr. Rodrigo holds Directorships in several government institutions and also assist for the functions of Audit Committees as committee chairman.
